First, let's take a quick tour of what I was able to afford in this area......
Here's what you saw on arrival...... and from the car window................ and after I was brave enough to get out of the car............
Now for a quick walk around the outside............
The driveway down the left side..... my new storage shed, and the ever so attractive fuel oil tank................. and the back 'patio'. Notice the nice grounds maintenance.
And now - - let's brave a walk to the back of the property........
Here's standing in front of my new back door and facing the rear of the property..... an few steps out & here's another view of the fuel tank........ a few more steps and the view to the right.......
We're about 1/2 way to the back now.................
Well - there's one pecan tree. Looks like a recent storm didn't help it at all..............hmmm, 3/4 the way to the back & here's an old trash burning barrel - not sure this is legal...........and we made it! The back gate - obviously not going any further right away..........
And the walk back to the house.................
Here's the view of the back of the house from the back of the property. Remember the lot is only 150' deep from the road.Well - here's the downed pecan tree again - and with a thorny rose growing in it..... and gong back toward the road on the right side of the house. Need to do some brush cutting here also.
So much for the outside - - let's take a quick look inside..................
One step in the front door - behind the door is my bedroom - floors may need work......Turn a bit to the right, and there's the opening to the 'dining room' - note the wonderful floor oil furnace.........Step through the dining room and look right into the kitchen - note the neat cupboard curtains!
OK - I cheated a bit - I've already yanked the stove out to start work on the floors.....from in front of the stove, looking left - well, it isn't big - and yup, the 'fridge is in the other room......looking back from the fridge into the kitchen........
Turn to the right, and here's the enclosed back porch - with - - well - some issues........and the window from the dining room looking into - - the enclosed back porch - - may have to work on this.......the spare bedroom window looking into - - the enclosed back porch - - don't know why so many rooms need to have windows into other rooms...........
back in the house proper & here's the spare bedroom - window to the right looks into back porch - notice the similar paint scheme throughout the house - early barn whitewash, I think.looking into the bathroom from the spare bedroom - furnishings from K-Mart I think - - changes gotta happen here.
Let the repairs begin!
First order of business was removing the kitchen flooring (couldn't handle blue floral vinyl)...ummm - make that remove the old kitchen floors - there were three layers to get up.......That original pebble-grain stuff was stuck but good - - almost done though........

Next up - get the contractor in and refinish floors before starting to move in.....
